5Exactly what we wanted
By J. K. Stabler
This arc lamp is very tall and the spread is wide. That is what we needed to cover a corner with two reading chairs. It is heavy, looks sturdy, and is quite elegant-looking. We are very pleased.

3mixxed review
By Nathan N. Aileo
I bought this lamp in December of 2010. I love the beauty of it. It was well packed in solid styrofoam. It looked like the shipper had beaten the package with a bat, and the box was heavily damaged but the lamp was just fine (even the bulbs, which were included, were just fine). It assembled relatively easily and though it took a little time, it was worth it.
Up until January 2012, I would have given 5 stars.

My light started flickering strangely in January 2012. I did some troubleshooting and determined it was the dimmer switch. When the light would start to flicker it would do that for a few seconds and then go out. If I barely turned the dimmer just a tiny amount, it would come back on and appear as normal. Later it might do this again, and I would touch the dimmer a tiny bit again and it would be normal again. Needless to say, this gets tedious. FYI, I do not normally touch the lamp. I have it in an outlet that is controlled by a switch, so I had always just left it on.

I contacted the seller and told them the problem and asked that even though it was just BARELY out of the first year, could they send me a dimmer switch and I would replace it myself (cheap, easy fix, dimmer switches would cost them a few dollars and show great customer service). They replied that because it was over a year, I would need to buy the dimmer for $20. I am debating that now. For a 400+ dollar lamp, I am a bit upset that I also need to buy a switch to fix it.

So... take that as you will. I still think the lamp is beautiful, but perhaps it just has a problem with it's switches, or maybe I just got unlucky and the company is not interested in great customer service.
