The lamp looks great. It's very tall, so the lowest light hangs just above head-height (5'10"). The package came with 6 pieces (base, straight part, curved arms, and 3 shades) plus 3 bulbs. Getting the straight part and the arms together was a hassle as I really had to jam the interior wires into the straight part; a very tight fit. I was worried I was doing something wrong... Though putting the lamp together was a fairly obvious process, the instructions were terrible and offered no help, so I just kept jamming the pieces together until they fit. Everything has to be screwed together really tightly in order for the lamp not to stand lop-sided, and to remain sturdy on my floor. Getting a tight fit with the pieces was a bit difficult with one person since the lamp is large and unwieldy. Set up would be much better with a second person to help out.
The packaging was the worst part of this lamp. Lots of Styrofoam that broke off in little pieces everywhere and tons of annoying packaging tape made clean-up a significant part of the process. All told, I spent over an hour putting this lamp together.
